Teaching acting and acting are two different things. Acting coach and actor Neeraj Kobi gives acting training and also acts himself. Neeraj says that while acting, the teacher inside goes away, only a student remains. I feel that to tell something new to the students, one has to learn more.
Have you got a chance to reshoot any scene? Neeraj says that yes, in Sacred Games, I was doing a scene with Nawaz (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), in which my character kills someone. Sacred Games was based on Vikram Chandra’s book. There were many other things related to this character in it. I did that scene and came back to the van. I was thinking that it was not right, people were knocking on the door from outside that the next scene is being prepared. I went to director Anurag Kashyap and asked if I could reshoot the scene? He said yes. In the book, that character likes to play cricket. The next day I shot the scene with Nawaz with a cricket bat. However, it is not possible to do this every time. That is why one should go to the set after a lot of preparation
